Alex Craciun is a London based chef with experience in modern British and Classic French cooking. Alex has spent the last 5 years discovering and crafting his love for Japanese food. He is now the Executive Head Chef at Sosharu London, an izakaya-style restaurant opened in March 2016.

Craciun learnt about Japanese cuisine during his time living in Japan. At this time he worked in a three Michelin star restaurant, including Kikunoi under Chef Yoshihiro Murata in Kyoto and subsequently at RyuGin under Seiji Yamamoto in Tokyo. He also worked in a traditional noodle shop mastering some of the most complex and delicious Japanese dishes using authentic, fresh ingredients that evoke the current season.
Born in Romania, Craciun moved to London where he worked for Jason Atherton for 10 years. He spent much of that time at Pollen Street Social and MAZE ( Gordon Ramsey Group )the one Michelin star restaurant he says stands out as a turning point in his culinary career, both in terms of experience and inspiration.
Craciun returned from his travels in Asia to work at Pollen Street Social.
